Habitat for Humanity La Crosse Area’s Women Build program brings women from all walks of life together to learn construction skills in a safe, comfortable atmosphere that they might not otherwise have the opportunity to learn and together use those skills to help build safe, decent, and affordable homes for families in need. Women Build is not about excluding men, it’s about including women. Women Build is empowering women to make a difference in their communities.

Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program empowers women to be involved in the entire process of building a home for a hardworking family. Women Build teams come together to fundraise, swing hammers, advocate for affordable housing, and actively work to build community – from raising the first dollar and walls to passing the key to the new homeowner.

Women Build welcomes women of all ages and experience levels. No previous construction skills are needed. Habitat will provided the tools and training you need for success. By participating in Women Build, you will play an important role in helping to break the cycle of poverty, strengthening our community, and building a brighter future for a local family. So whether you are an expert with power tools or have never swung a hammer, you are invited to be a part of Women Build!

In Support of Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region
At Habitat, we envision a Coulee Region with ample, quality housing options and healthy, sustainable communities for all. We believe that decent, affordable housing should be a matter of conscience and action; we realize that there are people in our community who are living in inadequate conditions and that joining together we can provide a hand up – not a hand out. Our values are as follows.

Committed to reuse and environmental sustainability: We believe healthy land and water are essential to a sense of home and belonging. Sustainable practices are embedded in our programs.
Rooted in faith in community: We honor the traditions and values of our founders, and we respect the needs and challenges of our local community as we together seek solutions for affordable housing.
Driven to innovate: We believe our mission calls us to be creative in our work. We look for fresh solutions and partnerships to solve the problems facing our community.
Called to advocate: We demand forward-thinking from our elected officials and work to keep the critical need for quality, affordable housing at the forefront of policy makers’ minds.
