Habitat is hosting another Home Maintenance Workshop on Thurs Nov 5! Back in August our workshop participants practiced repairing drywall and received kits with materials to take home. We are now excited to bring that same hands-on learning experience to toilet repair in the Habitat ReStore.
Are you free to lend a hand? We don't need licensed plumbers or experts, volunteers would simply help demonstrate repairs and answer questions based on their experience. If you've worked in maintenance or simply feel comfortable with basic plumbing we would love to have you join us. Habitat will provide all the tools, supplies, and most importantly toilets. 🚽
Some of the learning objectives will include indentifying the parts inside a toilet tank, shutting off water supply, and adjusting a fill value or flapper chain. If interested, please register to volunteer so we can follow up with more details. Many thanks!

In Support of Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region
At Habitat, we envision a Coulee Region with ample, quality housing options and healthy, sustainable communities for all. We believe that decent, affordable housing should be a matter of conscience and action; we realize that there are people in our community who are living in inadequate conditions and that joining together we can provide a hand up – not a hand out.Â
Our values are as follows:
Committed to reuse and environmental sustainability:Â We believe healthy land and water are essential to a sense of home and belonging. Sustainable practices are embedded in our programs.
Rooted in faith in community:Â We honor the traditions and values of our founders, and we respect the needs and challenges of our local community as we together seek solutions for affordable housing.
Driven to innovate:Â We believe our mission calls us to be creative in our work. We look for fresh solutions and partnerships to solve the problems facing our community.
Called to advocate: We demand forward-thinking from our elected officials and work to keep the critical need for quality, affordable housing at the forefront of policy makers’ minds.
Committed to equity and justice: We recognize the historical and contemporary injustices that exclude countless individuals from homeownership, and we dedicate ourselves to addressing and repairing these harms.
